Critical Incident Awareness Training, Inc. was founded in November 2008. It is owned and operated by Federal and Washington D.C. area police officers dedicated to serving and protecting the community. Each officer is a highly trained instructor with experience and knowledge in various forms of defensive tactics, mixed martial arts, special operations tactics and psychological awareness. Our on-going training and experience enables us to relate to our students’ needs and provide them with the most realistic training available.

Independence

Unlike many self-defense programs offered, CIAT is not restricted to any specific fighting technique, martial arts style, or the myth of "Fair Fighting" . Our training focuses on realistic tactics based on criminal statistics, case studies, and personal knowledge and experience. Our self-defense moves are powerful, fast, effective and extremely easy to learn. There is no such thing as a "Beginner’s Course" since anyone can be attacked. A student becomes Advanced by taking our techniques and applying them to his/her everyday life. We train our students to be proactive instead of reactive.
